Iris Recognition Technology

It is very much important that we have a good security system not only in businesses but also in our own houses. There are actually several ways on how you can secure your properties, belongings, and establishments and among these ways is the iris recognition technology.

Iris recognition technology is actually a security method wherein it scans or photographs the user's iris so that he or she may be authenticated or authorized to gain access into a certain facility or establishment. This particular security measure is among the many biometric security solutions that we currently have.

Iris recognition technology may be very expensive that is why it is commonly implemented only in high-security areas such as top government facilities or other places where great security is needed.

Iris recognition technology works somehow similar to a finger print scanner wherein the camera takes a black and white photograph of the user's iris and it is then saved into the database.

Just like a finger print, every human being has a unique iris pattern and it cannot be tampered with easily unlike finger prints. Since finger prints remain on surfaces, it makes other people or spies to easily replicate the finger print it thus giving them the opportunity to take advantage of this particular security flaw with finger print scanners.

Identical twins may have the same finger prints but not iris patterns this is why iris recognition technology is considered as the one of the most advanced technology when it comes to security matters.

Iris patterns are also stable and they do not change unlike finger prints wherein they may change as the person ages.

Iris recognition technology may also be used in hotels as replacements for room keys enabling the customer to bring nothing but still have access to his or her hotel room.

Future Of Travel Technology

The 70's were the start in many ways of the Electronics and digital revolution, travel technology was developed for the airline industry's use of automation and their need to extend this out to the travel agency partners. There was an online world before the advent of the World Wide Web in the form of private and commercial online services, via packet switched network using X.25. Travel technology played a significant role in the e-commerce world where we live in. This article is about the technologies that could change the face of travel in the near future.
Mobile Apps (RFID):
The mobile technology offered  now days  is not just limited to boarding passes , it has  developed into comprehensive ‘apps’ that can be downloaded to smart phones. With the explosive increase in the mobile market it has been the major target for all travel companies. Via.com largest travel network in India is soon to launch its mobile apps for all its travel agents .So with the mobile market in place. A mobile phone can be equipped with a bar code reader using Radio frequency identification, this would enable customers to scan the bar codes on holiday brochures and booking platforms, details of availability information can be displayed on their mobile phone screen. A booking confirmation in turn would have a unique barcode that the customer can store it in their phone so that hotels and airports can recognize the customer using a RFID (Radio frequency identification) - This can Speed Up the check-in, check-out and security processes faced by majority of the passengers.
Social Travel Search:
A lot of websites are now focused on the travel social networks , travel news and travel guides , integrating a lot of information available on the net , what could be an innovative solution is they developing a travel social search engine , where real people with real information can answer the travel queries instantly and on the go , while they are travelling . –This could be a real time travel guide, giving the right advice and service to their customers.
Biometric Systems:
The main systems evolved in biometrics are fingerprint, hand, palm vein, face, iris, retina and voice recognition and comparison. It is already common in the use of security systems which we find in offices or airports .The computers had the finger-print and retina scanning systems installed in them. (for their security breaches ), so this is not really a new term for most of us  .In this the fingerprint(or retina) scanning could really make the travel of the future simpler and faster . The fingertip could be classified as a unique identifier for the customer’s profile and bookings. A customer would scan their fingertip on their computer and store booking information, their interest, their travel trip information, passport and visa information, etc.Which they can further retrieve at a travel kiosk , travel shop , airport check-in desk, or at the hotel ,while travelling. - This gives a more integrated on and offline service to customers, they are relieved of their documents and booking data that needs constant care while travelling.
Video and Voice:
Searching a destination through a video or voice , ex. if I don’t know the language of a particular destination and still want some information about that place , probably I can upload a video or have a speech technology which can transform my content or search in the local language , and give me the local results .another example for this could be , I can upload a video for a destination and gives me the information about that destination (the best food outlet , hotels nearby etc).-This could become a solution to the linguistic barriers present in the world while travelling.
Intelligent Agent Technologies:
The need of a travel agent is far more than what a need of a customer is , being associated with via.com largest travel network of agents in India , giving the agents the power to book anything on the go , is not all , the agent in the future would want something like a virtual tourism on its mobile , where to make a trip for its customer he does not have to go anywhere else , the analytics and the behavior models of different agents needs to studied in order to serve them the best and fastest kind of service . The agent who has to manage a thousand customers should have a platform to solve multiple queries, and probably be connected with the customer on his trip. –This gives the most trustable and real time service to a passenger on the go.
Via.com is a leader in travel automation and technology. With a vision to provide seamless service to it’s’ customer and provide best service at cheapest rate, via.com has evolve a new era of technologies in travel industry. Now cheap air ticket, online bus reservation, railway reservation through IRCTC is easy and accessible from web and mobile app.

RFID Technology: Manufacturing

In the manufacturing industry, primary focus is placed on products and their production.  Products are continuously transported throughout the manufacturing plants and warehouses to be produced, packaged, shipped and delivered.  Automatic Identification and data capture (AIDC) technology is used to label and identify products.   An effective method of AIDC is radio frequency identification (RFID). Although this technology is not a new invention, its familiarity is just beginning, but advancing rapidly.

RFID communicates through radio waves to exchange data between a reader and an electronic tag that is attached to an object.  RFID is beneficial to manufacturers because it allows them to run more efficient operations.  RFID helps by tracking and tracing products while in process throughout a manufacturing plant and warehouse, a process commonly called Work in Process or WIP tracking.

RFID WIP Tracking is a system used when materials - whether manufactured, fabricated or repaired - are transported between multiple work areas or departments.

While barcodes can be used to identify work orders, items, and other important information, RFID WIP is more advanced and efficient.  Every detail is recorded instantly with out the need for line of sight scanning, and helps speed up the tracking progress.  RFID improves line speeds, allows for more production per hour, and reduces the likelihood of errors.

RFID technology improves the efficiency of manufacturing processes by automating inventory checks and supply chain tracking.  It monitors work in process during the production cycle.  Manufacturing RFID tracks inventory, maintains current item information, determines product features and date of manufacturer, detects errors and can track at the item level. RFID technology is able to read multiple tags at once, reduces time wasted during production, reduces time spent locating a product, increases factory utilization, and improves on delivery time.

In addition, this technology reports immediate problems, and companies can verify previous errors as well.  Also, RFID tags can identify objects, items and people.  RFID tags (also know as chips) are more secure for manufacturers because only authorized users can read the tags.  No limit or capacity is placed on the tags, and they can be read numerous times.

Be sure to check out all of the RFID, data collection solutions available from BCI Inc.

3G technology is the latest technology in mobile communications. 3G stands for third generation of wireless technologies like mobile telephony, mobile communications etc. The International Telecommunications Union (ITU) defined the 3G technology of mobile telephony standards as International Mobile Telecommunications-2000 (IMT-2000) to increase the band width, transfer rates to accommodate Web based applications and phone based audio and video files. It comprises several cellular access technologies.

3G technology is intended for the true multimedia phones which are called as Smart phones. 3G networks have potential transfer speeds up to 3 Mbps. With 3G Technology we can download large multimedia files from internet and we can also send and receive large multimedia files. 3G technology phones are like mini-laptops and we can put up broad band applications like video conferencing, receiving and streaming video from the web. We can also send faxes and instantly download e-mail messages along with attachments. 3G is a cell phone network protocol.

In earlier days, Mobile phones are traditionally used for voice communication, but today it can serve as the platform for a range of communication outputs which includes data and video. 3G has enhanced countless of applications such as mobile video, secure mobile ecommerce, location based services, mobile gaming and audio on demand. Almost there are currently 100 million 3G wireless subscribers in world wide. However, to get from 2G to 3G technology, mobile operators had make evolutionary upgrades to existing networks, at the same time they planned their revolutionary new mobile broad brand networks which leads to the establishment of two distinct 3G families like 3rd generation partnership project (3GPP) and 3GPP2.

Now a days 3G technology turns into a latest fashion among youngsters for their requirements. It is widely useful for who always works with internet. It facilitates to download the e-messages also. Technology's Ambassador

My brother and I would argue about what we were seeing as Margaret Benyon's Tigirl changed each time we shook our heads. At least once a year as we were growing up, our grandparents took us to the MIT Museum, where our favorite exhibits included the holography collection, Arthur Ganson's kinetic sculptures (we loved the wishbone), and the strobe-light photography of Doc Edgerton, SM '27, ScD '31 (the bullet going through the apple never ceased to amaze us). And visiting gave my grandfather, Harvey Steinberg '54, then chairman of the museum advisory board, a chance to share his MIT stories with us.

Fast-forward a few years. I was taking a year off after my sophomore year at MIT and needed something to do. My grandfather suggested that I might be able to help out at the museum, which had just opened its Mark Epstein Innovation Gallery. So I ended up volunteering there several days a week from October to August.

I started by doing behind-the-scenes work, compiling research on new exhibits and assembling supplies for workshops.

But at the Friday After Thanksgiving (FAT) Chain Reaction, I got my first chance to interact with the public. FAT teams make Rube Goldberg-inspired machines that are started by a pulled string and end up pulling the string of the next machine. One of the coolest parts for me was getting to meet the event's MC, Arthur Ganson, the creator of the awesome kinetic sculptures at the museum. I built a link in the chain myself that year (with some help from my brother) and have gone back every year since.

Shortly after Thanksgiving, we began preparing for the Rube Goldberg Competition for middle-school students that the MIT Museum cohosts each April at the Fay School in Southborough, MA.

We spent much of December ordering supplies and assembling kits; in January, we trained teachers from each participating school. As an MIT student mentor (each team gets one), I visited my team at their school and helped them plan. Although each team got the same task and the same materials, when I saw the machines in action in April, I was impressed by how different and creative each approach was.

That spring, I disassembled my first computer as part of the museum's "take-apart" event during the annual Cambridge Science Festival. I also got the job of playing with some recently obtained Lego MindStorms kits. Each kit contained basic Lego pieces, sensors, and a cable to connect the base to a computer so it could be programmed. Once I familiarized myself with the parts and the software, I helped write the curriculum for the initial MindStorms workshop, which the museum now offers regularly to school groups. (Fun fact: MindStorms' programmable bricks were developed at the MIT Media Lab.)

My summer at the museum was a ton of fun! We had a rotating schedule of drop-in activities: visitors could try out Lego MindStorms, inexpensive XO computers from One Laptop Per Child (OLPC), a giant tornado machine, and activities in the DNA Learning Lab. In creating the OLPC demo, we visited the project's headquarters in Kendall Square and took apart a laptop (such as ThinkPad R60, ThinkPad T60, ThinkPad X60). It was a blast to play with cool stuff all day.

When it was time for me to return to school that fall, I wanted to share the museum with the rest of the MIT Community (free with MIT ID!). The night of registration day, we had a big party with ice cream, music filled with bad science puns, and construction projects involving toothpicks and Dots candy.

As a student again, I still visited the museum frequently to escape the stress of the semester. For the 2008 Cambridge Science Festival, I took a break from working on my 2.007 robot to stand at the museum's booth for an hour and explain what a phenakistoscope is (it's an early animation device based on the principle of persistence of vision). I then helped families make their own. And during IAP 2009, I helped create a giant geodesic dome, first in Lobby 13 and then again in the MIT Museum. It was large enough to lie in!

Volunteering at the museum gave me great opportunities to develop my skills at working with the public and explaining technical information. The place I visited regularly growing up is now filled with many more memories.

Divine Technology

Churches and other religious institutions are not known for their immediate love of all things new and different. But is this suspicion of advancing technology down to fear or simply down to a more level-headed approach to changes in society?

Whilst some within the Church are wary of relying on such technology, many others have begun to embrace it. The fact that religious organisations don't jump on such band wagons is a surprise to many since their beliefs dictate that they should find the best ways they can to preach the gospel and technology surely is the best way to reach large numbers of people. However, the difference is that the Church will always prefer real experiences and contact with real people. Therefore, understanding how best to reach people through means of technology is much more complicated than simply just setting up the odd Facebook page.

This makes the reasons that the Church is slow to adapt to changes in society much more clear.

They want to understand how these changes will effect or benefit them before they plunge in head first. Many churches now have their own websites and are using the virtual world more and more, but are trying not to become dependant on online communities, favouring real ones to the virtual.

However, one area that many churches are embracing whole-heartedly is Church Software. As opposed to this being a way to try to change the way they preach, most Church Software is simply designed to make the day-to-day running of the church much easier. From Church Accounting to Scheduling, the range of software available to churches is increasing every day, and rather than diverting time from focused sermons like certain technologies can, applications such as software for Church Accounting are doing the opposite and freeing up much more time to focus on what is important.

Avionics Technology

If you have had the opportunity to see a plane's cockpit while in flight or have see a missile launched from a fighter jet, you have seen avionics in action. Avionics consist of the electronic systems that are used on aircraft and spacecraft as well as artificial satellites. This includes systems for communications, navigation, monitoring, and weather. The word "avionics" also refers to the science and the development of technology as it applies to aeronautics and astronautics. Avionics fall into two main categories: aircraft avionics and mission/tactical avionics.

Aircraft Avionics

Many of the avionics systems on an aircraft can be found and controlled in the cockpit. You'll find systems for controlling the aircraft, monitoring, communication, navigation, anti-collision and weather sensing. The capacity of the aircraft's electrical system depends on its size - airliners, military combat aircraft and spacecraft will usually run larger systems to drive their avionics.

Several major vendors manufacture flight avionics systems, one of the largest being Honeywell.

Mission/Tactical Avionics

Military aircraft are fit with systems that are either designed to sense and respond to a threat or to deliver an offensive attack. Communication systems are able to withstand combat conditions while sophisticated radar systems are made to help pilots fly jets safely at low altitudes. Sonar is used to aid military aircraft in marine environments by tracking submarines and surface threats. Electronic support measures and defensive aids (ESM/DAS) are used to obtain information about possible threats. These systems can also be used to launch devices to counter attacks against the aircraft.

Avionics systems can also be found on police and EMS aircraft. Police helicopters track suspects and EMS aircraft locate rescue victims from the air using video or Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR).

Avionics vs. Avation

What is the difference? Avionics refers to the electronic systems that are used by different types of aircraft, while aviation describes the different uses for flying devices. Civil aviation includes commercial flights and private transport while military aviation may include surveillance flights, delivery of supplies or tactical attacks.
